Description: Snell House is named in honor of Nobel laureate Dr. George D. Snell (1903 – 1996) of the Jackson Laboratory who lived here with his wife, Rhoda, and three sons. Located on quiet tree-lined Atlantic Avenue, Snell House is one-half block from the historic Bar Harbor Shore Path and within easy walking distance of downtown shops and amenities. In summer, enjoy lush, flowering shrubs, expansive lawns, and maybe a fresh tomato or carrot from the garden. Snell House offers five comfortable vacation apartments. They range in size from a single-bedroom efficiency, a single-bedroom with living/kitchen area and cozy upstairs loft, to large two-bedroom units, all with full kitchen.
